The Council for the Development of Cambodia said that from 2013 to 2017, Cambodia had received 970 projects worth $23.48 billion from domestic and foreign companies.

The investment capital was about $4 billion per year and potentially created 219,000new jobs in an average a year. Over the past five years (2013-2017), the average annual foreign direct investment was about 40 percent of the total investment capital in each year.

The report said in 2018 the foreign direct investment (FDI) increased nearly 70 percent of the total registered capital at CDC. This reflects the greater confidence of both domestic and foreign investors on the Cambodian government’s leadership and the investment is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.

The increase in investment will provide opportunities for local enterprises to build partnerships with FDI companies to increase productivity, competitiveness and connectivity to regional and global markets.[:]
