Phnom Penh: senior manager of OCIC, said that the company will actually build a new satellite city project along the river on the island of Norea in Kien Svay district, Kandal province.

OCIC Deputy General Director Touch Samnang said by phone on Tuesday that the company is currently drafting a legal procedure to request the government for the project. However, he did not disclose how many investment capital will be invested in this project.

“What I can confirm now is that this project is going to be done in the future and the size of the new city is more than 100 hectares,” he said, adding that the project would be Developed like Koh Pich today. ”

The new satellite city will be filled with sand on the river bank from Norea Island to the  Tonle Touch to Kien Svay district, Kandal province.

The president of the Association of Valuers and Real Estate Agents of Cambodia, Chrek Soknim, said that in the context of peace, stability, political stability and economic growth, such a new city is normal and the new city will be built and help the construction and real estate sector in Cambodia become even more confident.

“Building such satellite cities will contribute to better socio-economic development, especially in Phnom Penh,” he said.
